Biography
Jaylene Cabrera (b. 2001, Florida) paints abstract works in oil and acrylic that explore themes of nature, emotion, and the unspoken message. Beginning each canvas in a state of uncertainty, Cabrera treats the act of continuous drawing as an exploration, allowing the narrative to reveal itself naturally. Through her practice, color and gesture portray profound narratives that words cannot carry on their own, transforming the canvas into a space to become entirely untethered.
Based in Virginia Beach, Virginia, Cabrera actively works as a live painter. She holds a BFA in Painting and Printmaking (2025), and her work has been recognized with two first-place awards, featured in over 15 publications, and exhibited in 28 exhibitions across four cities.
